So was loosing speed and the belt looked worn it's a (manco 5959)
Came home today son was driving around says it's slow angle side of the belt is smoked.
Found a belt at the local store 5959 it's a little shorter about 27"
The manco measures about 28 but is worn barely 5/8 wide
New one is nice and wider 3/4 got it on but the kart barely moves angle looks the same
When I jack it up and run it looks normal goes through the gears.
Even tried taking out the little spacer on the driver no difference .
What would cause this
Thanks
Mike

measure it (outer circumference) it must be 27.4 inches;
some mfgs are idiots and label the 203589A belt (which is indeed 27" exactly) as 5959,
some even are dumb enough to put both numbers on the same belt.

So if yours happen to be 27 inches, it's the wrong belt and you need to buy a new one I'm afraid

It measured exactly 27" outside
Where can I order a better one
Or maybe I go back there tomorrow
And tell him it's to small not only that don't want to admit I paid 40$
For that belt so my son could ride looked like the same belt on eBay under 10$

Here's a vid of it with the new belt seems fine but when the wheels are in the ground
It barely moves .
My son says when he drove it with the old belt till it was smoked it did the same thing
And would barely go
Is there anything else that would make the belt not grab good enough
Thanks for any help

your driver needs maintenance it's kinda sticky..

IDK if that's the fisheye effect you'll have on all smartphone cams or a real life issue,
but in the vid it looks like the shafts are not parallel and thus the complete system runs
let's say "less than ideal" (robbing it quite an amount of power)

Anyways that's likely an issue but shouldn't stop the kart from moving.

WHAT DOES is bad gear ratio though.
Sooo, seeing it's a two seater kart with what appears to be 16" rear wheels
and judging by not more than the tank and exhaust.. your everyday 6.5 horses
since that looks Subaru'esque maybe even just 6? ...

I really hope you have around 70 teeth...
otherwise that thing WILL have a hard time moving the kart no matter how well the TC is maintained and setup.

IDK but it looks small, and some Manco two seaters do not allow for more than 300lbs of payload (driver plus passenger)
hard to tell from this perspective tbh..
but after you brought your TC back to glory (clean all, drylube driver internals only, align as perfectly as possible)
you might want to think about changing the ratio to cause a little less abuse to the engine.
Or upgrade the engine to somethign with ~9hp
(or maybe give the engine you have it's power back by giving it good maintenance as well.. )
a predator 212 should really be able to move that thing or any 200cc engine with 6.5horses really..
So yeah since that's what I believe you should have (powerwise) it might just need some care.
(decarbonizing, carb cleaning and adjusting etc.)

So after trying another belt from another kart they don't ride anymore
Nothing
Other drive pulley nothing
Other driven pulley nothing
I noticed somehow the throttle is only going about 5/8 -3/4
Adjusted the cable and away he went
Why couldn't I of noticed that to start oh well he's having fun
And the belt was smoked so that is where I started

Lol
When I did the vid I grabbed the throttle on the engine full throttle
After switching everything and it was still slow .
I thought it has to be the linkage to the governor or the governor
That's when I noticed full pedal wasn't full throttle
Now the question is did something change to make it not full throttle
Because he's been riding it all summer without a problem
Not familiar with the Subaru robin but I'll have to get in there and clean carb new plug and filter
And go from there
