I'm Phil

I've just agreed to buy this kart and I'm afraid I may have gotten in the deep end. I have no idea who the manufacturer is or any other info other than it is a commercial Kart with a Honda gx270 with a wet clutch and gilmer belt drive. I chose it because of the body its fully enclosed and you are below the windshield. I figure it could be fun but I'd like to know anything about the maker.

Looks like a good buy to me man. It really doesn't matter the manufacturer. If the Honda engine still runs good then sling a standard axle and sprocket in that thing and go if you have to. Anything can be fabbed up as long as you've got the body and frame.

certainly a concession kart.
wet clutch and gx270 is a great combination.. it likely has a belt drive as final, so it'll be durable and quiet as well.

Great kart (not the fastest, certainly not the lightest but surely close to indestructible)

You will find a mfg label eventually (look around the engine bay)
but replacements will be mostly generic
belt transmissions can be costly and difficult to find.. at worst you can easily swap to a chain drive in case you need to though.

You can surely strip a LOT of weight off that. They add a lot of crap to those things so they have as low a CG as possible.

Lighten it up a bit, lose the bumpers, add some slightly bigger tires to get some clearence and a little more speed... Should be a fun machine.

Getting tossed in the deep end is the best way to learn to swim. (This is probably very inaccurate LOL).

Good Luck and Have a Blast.
