you could just change the sprockets and or tires. if you add that motor, you will have to change sprockets either way for gearing. If geared right it will haul ***. Be sure your kart has enough weight up front for steering.

What kinda kart do you have? Post a pic.

Unless you have a big heavy kart, I'd hold off on that adding a turbo part for now, you'll probably be able to roast a brand new set of rear tires down to the cords in just a few minutes without it.

One main piece of advice- BRAKES. Giving your kart extra power than it was built for, there will be a need for better quality brakes (discs and callipers)

Turboing it will be and overkill unless you use a turbo specificly designed for a 5hp. Those 5hp turbos cost like a $1000 tho...

Without pics, you'll need to start giving us lots of detailed info for us to give you any meaningful advice here. First we'll need to know what Axle diameter and type of bearing your kart is set up to use.

Same deal on recommending new tires. We'd need to know what width and diameter your rims are, and if you wanna go with race-type slicks that would hook up best on pavement or maybe some tires that would be more appropriate for off road use.

Here's a link to several different styles of kart axle bearings : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...rings&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Here's a bunch of kart tires available online: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...res&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=g8&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Seriously don't waste time putting a turbo on a 600. Just put it in the kart. You'll see that it will already have way too much power. It would be a complete waste of money and time to turbo it.

My low power 400 twin kawasaki motor has more than enough, that 600 will be overkill without a turbo.

Ya I know a turbo is more then an over kill and that's kinda the point. My buds and I tend to over due things that are already over done and we have this turbo just layin about and thought a go kart with a BOV would just sound freakin awsome! It'll be set to push around 4-7 pounds which isn't a lot but we want to make sure we build it right so were goin to different forums just getin some feed back on it.

A 600cc is more than overkill. Adding a turbo will take so much time and money, and with a straight pipe exhaust (which you will need if you like "freakin awsome" sound) you won't even be able to hear the BOV over it. Not to mention the nightmare of tuning a 600cc with a turbo on it (aftermarket ECU = $$$), and the lag you will experience, coupled with possibly detonating you're entire engine... will it really be worth it?

My advice is to build the kart without a turbo, THEN if you feel that it's not powerful enough :)roflol:) then you can add a turbo.

well the turbo isnt going on till after the engine is installed and runing so if you guys are right (in which you more then likely all are) that itll be waaaaay to much then we'll prob just stick with the na 600. heres a pic and the bike behind it is the R6 were usin'. and were using everything from it engine, brakes, lights, horn, ect...

Gotta love those overpowered suspensionless yard karts. My kart is a little bigger than that, but still your basic live axle/no susp/no rollcage. I put a old kawasaki kz400 engine into it, and i can roast the tires through 3 or 4th on dirt, and the acceleration is more than enough. Its a blast to drive.

yea, no turbo, not worth it.

i recommend lengthening it and making it mid engine... (or moving the rear axle back) that way you have a chance of keeping the front wheel on the ground when you are not in it

Organ Donor Card.

That thing's gonna kick a$$. Don't let it kick yours. Cheers!

Don't forget wrist restraints and window nets too, for *when* you crash and flip over, LOL.

That frame needs some serious work for it to be able to handle all that power. So much work that I'd be starting from scratch.

Ya were gonna extend the frame about a foot or so and move the axle as far back as we can
