Just wondering if you guys can help me out... I've got the opportunity to buy this kart but I'd like to know more about it first. I'm not sure if it runs, there is no carb on the engine.

What brand/model is it and what do you think it may be worth? Sorry for the poor quality pics, all I had with me was my iPod at the time.

Thanks!

I cant tell what brand it is, there were at least a dozen companies making racekarts that looked very similar to yours in the 1970's. The kart w/o engine is probably worth somewhere in the $100-$300 range, depending on if the frame, brakes, clutch, chain, sprocket, bearings and tires are in decent/usable condition.

Does the guy still have the carb and air cleaner?
I'd ask why he took the carb off, maybe it just needed cleaning or ???

Those 5hp Honda's were really good engines, they used to win a lot of kart races back in the 70's-80's.

Thanks! He does not have the carb or air cleaner, he bought it this way. I'd say most of those parts look to be in usable condition but I may have to swap some tires as there is a little cracking.

It's $325 including the engine.

Try to do a bit more off the price. Since the engine is not complete and you may need to start looking for a carb, which can be difficult sometimes.

Check for compression & spark, if it has both of them the engine is salvagable. Even if it only has compression it's still not dead, but knock the price down.
