How much are the base model ones?

You would end up with a better kart if you bought a second hand kart, or built one yourself. My Sidewinder kart will only cost me $2500 AUD total, which is about $1800 USD, and it will smash any hammerhead kart (when it's finished :roflol: ). Even a heavily modified one.

well i thought about building a sidewinder but im trying to stay compact. the hammerheads are designed to fit in the bed of a truck so i wouldnt have to buy a trailer

Are you sure? I might be looking at the wrong kart, but this one is 56" wide. It would fit on my old flat bed p/u barely, but it would be up over the bed rails on my f150. With most pickups I have owned, if over 4' wide good luck.

If you had a f250 maybe.

I would never buy a go kart, half the fun is building it...Besides, 150cc? what brand engine? china i bet...i built my shifter kart, which will top out at 60, and is probably a little better performance than a hammerhead for about $100. It is more cramped, but its a lot of fun to drive.

I have a BX 125 off-road buggie that has a 125cc GY6 Honda clone which sells new for $2,400 in the states, I paid $250 for mine off of craigslist and all it mainly needed was a carb cleaning. Mine goes 35mph stock but these engines have lots of aftermarket performance parts.

i thought the same thing about the engine size but there performance is ridiculous i test drove one and i almost got whiplash from flooring it from a dead stop so i thought maybe its geared really low but the digital speedometer claimed we 42 before i ran out of road and i agree i would love to build one but by the time i bought all the tools like welder pipe a pipe bender tires motor and stuff i could just buy one for that on craigslist they run like 1000 after about a years use

For $1000 you could get a nice welder, angle grinder and drill press (second hand) AND build yourself a kart which would run rings around the hammerhead, which would also fit in your ute.

I was always under the impression that those hammerheads were built for kids...
