Need help with ride-on mini classic

Hello all,

Not sure if that is the exact name for this type of kart, but I guess that it will fly until someone corrects me.

I have looked high and low to get an idea of how the frame is built, but have not found one yet.

I just decided to jump into the project and found some 1 1/2" square tubing and mocked up a small frame.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got to work on it a little more. Got the rear axle mounted. Mocked up the steering. Fully intended on getting it into full roller mode this weekend and ran into my first snag. The wheels and tires I acquired them from Flebay several years ago. I order complete hub kit from BMI and they did not fit. The center hole in the wheel was smaller than the diameter of the hub. The bolt pattern was also slightly off. Any suggestions? Which hubs do I need to buy? Any help is appreciated.

You probably got Metric Racing wheels and American Hubs from BMI.
Or vice versa. I just made the same mistake via a craigs list sale.
I believe there are a couple standard sizes in each metric and imperial.
Some precise measurements of each will be the only way to find out what you have.
Then it will be up to you to decide which to keep and which to rebuy.

Sorry guys, the wheels are aluminum race kart wheels with a three hole bolt pattern. The kit I ordered was BMI Kart Lightened Aluminum Racing Wheel Hub Set (Front and 1" Rear) part #600271.

I think I will be a little cheaper to buy another set of wheel hubs. any links or post with more information on the wheel patterns and measurements?

Most likely Metric wheels.

Chancer and Joe..... good call, the wheels are metric 50mm center to center and 40 mm wheel opening. I'll just order the BMI adapters because I already ordered the 1" live axle and 5/8" spindle kit. Thanks again

Hey Guys,

Finally got the metric hub adapters in and made the frame a roller. The metric adapters are a little wider than the standard hubs. Also ran into clearance issues with the front tires hitting the front of the body (on the inside). The wider hubs pushed the rear tires against the body also.

I'm going to scrap this project for now and use all the spare parts on the new kart and mini bike I traded for last week.
