I have a 1960 Model T go kart made by McDonough Corp. in GA.

I cannot get the forward drive lever to lock in place. You have to hold the lever down to drive it currently. I bought the car without an engine so it needs some adjustments.

I would be grateful if anyone could e-mail a photo or two of the transmission area from above and from underneath.
This would allow me to see if everything is in place.

I cannot find much info on these little cars.

Thanks,

I'm going from memory but I think those used a verticle crankshaft engine that pivots to tension a belt. My guess is there's a worn notch of some sort that's not holding it in gear.
