Need help with go kart details

I have done a decent amount of research and I have the model number, but it seems none of the information in the manual or online matches the actual parts on my go kart.

I have a Manco 415-30 I picked up cheap and it needs some work. My wife, son, and I are going to fix it up so he can enjoy it, but I need help with just about everything.

It seems the entire stock rear end of the go kart was changed to another variation and I am having trouble piecing stuff together since I am new to go kart builds. I have a couple pictures of the model and also the go kart in general.

The rear axle is not the diameter listed in the manual. The motor in staggered more to the right center than in the diagram and also the sprocket is basically dead center on the rear of the go kart.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I am about to replace the motor with a 212 predator motor and I was wanting to replace the rear tires and it was also missing a nylok nut on the passengers side that I need to find and I'm not sure of the thread pattern or the actual axle size and stuff. I bought stuff to rebuild the front bearings and wheels and they fit fine, but the rear definitely was a different size.

What size is the axle and are you wanting to replace wheels and tires or just the tires?

To get a new nut....take off the drivers side and take it to the hardware store and thread it on a bolt...then you'll know!

I know at the threads its roughly 3/4 inch, not sure the length or thread pattern or middle diameter. My guess on the thread pattern is some where around 3/4-16, it's definitely a fine thread pattern. We are wanting to replace the rim and tire they are both pretty beat up.

Well you probably need to pull a wheel then and shoot a pic of it and the axle so we can look at it.

The axle nuts should be pretty generic....but let's see what you got ...

very likely it is 3/4-16 thread,
that'd be the standard threading for a 1" axle with 3/4 step down (azusa axles)
lock nuts are also availble from azusa

but frankly, any decent hardwarestore should have them

Post a pic of your rear end so that we can see what's been done,
And read the number on the rear tyres (look like 410-350-5 to me)
which is fairly small for a kart like that indeed.

The rear end is a little beat up needs some repairs and new pieces.

Would it be worth it to modify Harbor Freight tires to fit in the rear with the axle attachments or just buy specific fitting ones?

It wouldn't be worth it to buy HF tires if they were direct replacement and they paid YOU $20 just to buy them!!!!!DON'T DO IT!!!!! They are absolutely crap...and not even suitable as dolly wheels!

Haha just trying to keep the cost down. He wants black rims and all the same size, was thinking around 13 inch with rim and tire to get more ground clearance since our property is a little bumpy. I haven't really found anything inexpensive. Direct me some where that has good deals.

Where you at in Texas? I got a stack of 3/4" drive lawnmower wheels and tires..... $10 for a set of 4...... Tires not great, might hold air? Never messed with them.. If you can pick them up...... Can't ship.....

because you took them the wrong way around
(landscape pics should be taken top of the phone pointing left)

And Poboy's right... don't use HF wheels ever (not the rims, not the tyres)
they will hold up for a minute or two, and then they will need to be replaced anyways...
worst case: they fail at speeds high enough that something else will break (hopefully not the passengers)

Stay away from them, they do not keep the costs down..
in fact you just burn whatever they cost (or more)

Well, you can't put a 3/4" nut on a one inch axle...like I said before: pull a wheel and post some pics!

OOPS! Right after I posted, I saw the pic....but my phone locked up and I lost service, so I had to reboot....Yeah, 3/4 stepdown for sure!

Increasing Tire size will increase ground to sprocket clearance, increase top speed, but decrease low end power.

Tire size needs to be considered side by side with clutch/torque converter sprocket and axle sprocket Teeth counts.

GoPowersports is in Keller, Texas....I don't know how far away from them you are...I can drive there and save shipping! However, I just ordered a clutch from them and I'm having it shipped.

My 145/70-6 knobbies are about 13" tall and I have them all the way around and I'm happy with them...What are your tooth counts now?
