Need help with CC for Belt Drive

Need help choosing a clutch for a go kart im trying to build for my sons, I'm learning as I go so any help is appreciated. It came with a belt drive setup. The size of the drive wheel is 9" to 9 1/4" if that helps, (im not sure if thats the right terminology
Do I need to order a CC Pull'y, does the size of the pull'y effect performance as with sprockets / gear ratios. Do I have to order a Pull'y clutch or would there be enough tension to keep the belt on a CC without lips to keep the belt from slipping off. For instance a standard clutch with sprocket.

Would this be a suitable clutch for Predator 212 engine, 6x12 street tires, and aprox 65lb thru 200 lbs riders.
And is this the old clutch??? on the inside of the wheel??

I've never used bmi but I hear good things..also eBay always has a lot of that sort of stuff...

1. BMI are know for their extensive range & low prices. Unfortunately, they're better known for the unreasonable shipping costs & lack of customer support; case in point, I sent them 2 enquiry emails over a year ago, never did hear back from them...

2. That clutch will be no good for you, that's a V belt clutch whereas, your pulley takes a wide, flat, toothed belt, totally different...

IIWM, I'd swap the wheel pulley for a sprocket & run a chain & clutch...

I am confused looking at your pics. I see what looks to be a band brake but cant see any drive pulley for that belt

It is a bit difficult to see, it's almost the same colour as the tyre; look closely, in pic 2, post #5, at the area between the loose belt & the brake band...

I wasn't sure if it was a brake either.. But I believe the throttle lever is just above attached to the support frame for the shell.

I'll do just that. Any recommendations on a good clutch. And what size sprocket do you feel would be best. Would the 6 to 1 apply.

Once again my thirst for understanding is easily quenched on this forum..
If my tires are 11" (The correct size, Not the 12" I posted earlier) the engines 212, street ridden, a 12 tooth engine sprocket and 72 tooth drive sprocket would be a happy medium for 170lb rider.

wow thats in really rough shape. You may have to just buy a new wheel/hub/sprocket/brake assembly. No amount of tire slime is going to hold your tire on the bead anymore :-(

I think since the tires are so small, that you would need to get a #35 chain and sprocket as well? (thats a question

Took it apart,
Not feeling to confident this plastic will hold up...
Should I replace these tires, or at least replace the bearings.
Maybe go with sealed.,,
I'm going to remove the belt drive and go with 12tooth: engine, 72 tooth on hub. Through MFGsupply both pedals cables 72 sprocket for a little over $30.
Have to figure out what break system to go with...

Looks like a band break...
Is a band break just a metal strap that tightens around the hub.
Are there any shoes or pads that go on the inside of the band that reduce friction?

Yes that is a band "brake" ,
Yes there should be a liner of sorts for the band, as in any disc/drum.

Thanks, I really thought it was the clutch before taking it apart, I'm hoping I can clean it up and run a longer cable to a foot pedal instead of the hand lever its currently set up as. Replace the band....
"firemanjim" Plans for the belt and drive are holding on to for now. As soon as I can order the correct clutch I'll change it back over (see how much a difference there is) But I will keep you in mind if I decide to get rid of it.
