need help picking a motor.

Hey guys. Here's my deal. I just bought a house. Accross the street we have a private beach. My family and I love to go down there during the summer. My brother-in-law has MS and has a hard time walking down the long road to get to it. When he gets there he can't even walk on the sand. I want to build him a little buggy that could get down there and possibility. Go on the beach. It only has to go like 100 feet or so on the sand. The road to get down there is like a 25 degree decline. So getting back is real hard. So....power and tq wise in a motor what would be good? I will figure out tires or if I need 4wd or not. It doesn't need to go 50mph. 10 or so with power. I did search the net. Im finding motors anywhere from 12-48 volts. 100-1000 watts. The chains are 25 which i think arw small. Thanks any help would be great.

Well, I do not know electric motor and all that, but your lack of top speed will be advantageous to climbing that hill back up because it can be geared low for lower speeds and torque. 4wd would be tough but a nice set of mudder tires or sand wheels would work but I don't think sand tires would do well on road. Maybe some deep tread mud tires.

Thanks. I have a set of 15x10 and 13x8 turf tires for now off my tractor. I need to know what kind of motor will power the weight. Will I need 1 motor for each tire? If I run a true posi the steering is terrible. My go kart has a posi and the turning stinks. Maybe find a transaxle? Also would having 2 smaller motors in the rear equal the same TQ as 1 large? I have alot of questions.....Thanks
