I am building a go kart for a school project and cannot figure out what size tires will for my rims. My rims are three piece 5" margay rims and they came with 11x7.00-5 Burris racing tires for the rear setup. I couldn't get on of the tires off of the rim even though I had already taken the rim completely apart. The tire just wouldn't unseat itself no matter how hard I tried so it eventually ended up being cut off with a razor knife. Now that I'm in need of a rear tire I can't find the same tire for cheaper than 65$ and I'm on a bit of a budget. I was wondering what sizes would fit, like would a 13x6-5 fit or would it be too narrow for the rim? If you know of any sizes that would for sure fit that would be a great help and I need to know ASAP. Much thanks - DHarrah.

Probably. but you did not say how wide the rim is.
Nevermind. The one inch difference in Tire width will not make a difference you will be fine.

BTW I get that size Tire 13 6 5 from Walmart online. Best price I have found.
and they even make a slick tire called a "smoothie"
Here is some links from a previous post!
The tires are a brand called Hi Run and are 13x5.00-6, The price was just the tire. I bought two of them for a Lawn tractor then stole them for the Go Kart about 18 months ago and bought two more. I must have forgot exactly what I paid for them but I am sure it was less than 20 bucks each, Anyway I am backpeddling now on the price because here is the Wal mart link and they are now 24 bucks. Oh yeah No I do not use inner tubes.

for the same price I wonder if anyone has tried these:

or better yet these for 18 bucks

The Walmart link yields a product no longer available, the Summit racing link yields no results, the ebay link also: no results. Maybe California really is a mystical land of rainbows, unicorns and cheap tires.

Thanks the original tires were 11x7.00 - 5 and fit the rim very well I I guess the 600 wouldn't make that much of a problem for them, also do you think the 11x7.10-5 would work?
