What is the bolt or part called in the picture that the green arrow is pointing to?

It is for a real tree rtk 200 go-kart. Screenshot_20220925-170948~3.png

Is it just a regular bolt that I can buy at a hardware store or some special bolt?

I am sure that you can buy the bolt. Just remove it and take it to a REAL hardware store, where they have a setup of metric and SAE nuts that you can screw the bolt into, so you can determine the size and thread pitch.

I don't have the bolt. It fell out somewhere and then my go kart wouldn't move.

Is it just a regular bolt?

As long as you know the size ( diameter ) and thread count, then any bolt is a
REGULAR bolt. Now you need to go and buy an array of bolts of various sizes until you get the right one. DON'T force it.

The reason Panch says "buy an array".......that means a bunch, because eventually you will need them. My dad used to keep a 5 gallon pail of every size from 1/4 to 5/8... and nuts also.....because sooner or later you will need them. and then you don't have to get in the car and go buy ONE, you will HAVE one.

This vendor offers Real Tree (RTK) karts. Contact them and see if they can supply or suggest the correct bolt. Your kart could be the same as a Coleman. Contact them also.

Sorry, but I don't think I have ever seen so much worry and hand wringing over the discovery of size and purchase of one bolt. Go to a decent hardware that has a good selection of individual bolts, buy one of different sizes and thread count both in Metric and SAE that you think is close to the correct diameter
( can't be more than about 6 or 7 ) Maybe $3 to $4, take them home and see which one fits. AIN'T ALL THAT HARD.

I plan on doing that but I wasn't sure if it is a regular bolt or some kind of special bolt or washer needed.

Looking at parts online it seems there may be more needed than a bolt.

Yes, from your pictures in post # 1 it looks like there are some washers sandwiched between the bolt and the face of the sprocket. Nothing special, but
something you will have to do.

Jambruins, you may have just answered a question for me..............tcannon posted a pic a couple of days ago with a question about where he could buy a part, and that assembly in the pic was something I've never seen before, wondered about it ever since.
Your pic looks like a portion of tcannon's pic. See the link to the page with his thread on it below. Pic is the first on the page.................

I took an actual picture of my go-kart and it looks like some kind of bolt with a stub off of the end is needed. I believe once you tighten the bolt it spins and the knob engages on the gear which will make the chain spin

You still have not bought a bolt and washers for that thing yet? Incredible! You should just sell it because you will never make it move again. Maybe take up jigsaw puzzles instead.

It's not just a bolt and washer. The bolt would spin but it would not engage the gear.

Why would I waste my time buying a bolt and washer when it's not going to solve the problem.

If you look at the picture I attached there is a notch. Something needs to be secured into this notch in order to engage the gear to engage the chain.

I've been looking around some more and it seems like it may be some kind of washer bolt and key.

Are you sure the key is not still in there? If it’s not just pick one up at ACE hardware when you go to get the bolt and washers. And put some Blue Lok-Tite on the threads of the bolt so you don’t loose it again. It’s not rocket surgery.

Looks like a splined shaft on a jack shaft. I would use a stack of washers that fit the ID of the hole....and then one thick washer on the out side, and then a bolt to lock them all together......with of course a little CRC threadlocker ( locktite)
