Need help from anyone else with a DuroMax XP16HPE engine

Looking for help with how to properly connect the throttle cable and also remove or bypass the governor. Can anyone post me some pics on how you did this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx

First, simply bypassing the governor will have catastrophic consequences; if you don't want the governor, you must remove it completely (yes, that involves opening the engine)...

AFAIK, Duromax is a honda clone so, attaching a throttle cable will be the same as any other honda/clone/predator...

I finally got the right help!

Thanks to a local, fellow DIY Go Karts member and actually lives just 3-4 miles away from me, I now have removed the governor and connected the throttle cable up. A big THANK YOU to SUPERMANOTORIOUS for your help! Here's some pics.

is it alot more faster with the governor removed? I still have my governor hooked up and I can only get about 3400rpm out of it...

That sounds about right, 3600rpm is factory standard...

By doing nothing but removing the governor, the engine goes from 3600 max rpm to around 5000 max rpm; in terms of speed, for arguments sake let's say you have 15" tyres & a 6:1 drive ratio:
@3400rpm, top speed will be around 24mph
@3600rpm, top speed will be around 27mph
@5000rpm, top speed will be around 37mph

I don't know yet. I don't even know how fast it could've gone with the governor on. I shredded 2 belts(wrong size), had the Driven Pully on backwards, bent the jackshaft. Little sh?# her and there!

Now I'm looking at maybe buying a new driver unit. The spring and brass ring on the shaft inside the unit were getting stuck in the open position so the kart would just take off without me when I started it. I found a crack that I'm guessing is not supposed to be there. What do you think Poboy kartman or anybody who can tell me If I need to replace it? Any help would be appreciated. Ty
