need help first time fixing a go kart

i have a fox 5.0 go kart and i want to find a cheap engine for it.
what i was thinking of doing was putting a 450cc engine on it but i cant find one in my price range i was thinking of $100 to $300.

Set more realistic goals. You can find 300cc engines (new) for less than $300. Home Depot is currently selling an 11hp, 338cc engine for $260.

That's assuming you're in the USA & you're referring to an industrial engine...

Keep in mind that, for the above mentioned engine, you will also need a clutch, etc, which could set you back up to a further $300...

Plus, you will have to fabricate a new engine mount....

I got the comet 40 series torque converter off of amazon for around 73 bucks. I have it on a 13hp Honda clone . I had to make a smaller spacer (about 3/16”) but I’m sure you’d be able to find a washer with a 1” hole at any good hardware store.
