I'm currently building a kart from scratch out of a shopping kart and an old frame. The engine I'm using is a kohler 25hp v-twin and I'm going to be hooking up a turbo for a 2.0 liter Kia to it. I expect it to make around 10 psi of boost. I need to find a clutch capable of what I'm predicting to be around 30 horsepower, that's under the 200 dollar mark. Any advice?

Welcome to DIY! I hope you really know what you're doing, that could be a death trap if put together wrong. Please don't take that remark wrong, I never know skill/experience level of new members. I think @Marinetech has found a clutch that can handle 40hp+. Under $200 I'm not sure. Best of luck and be careful!

you're fine, lol, i understand the concern. I've already built a full sturdy roll bar on the frame and my day job is a tractor and mower mechanic so i have a fair bit of experience with these engines in particular, in my experience the conrod usually shatters before anything too terrible happens externally.

Good. I just never know if some has been fabing awhile, or is trying to bolt their frame together(true story).

I'm to the point of wondering if the pto clutch would work. its something I'm a lot more familiar with, I know how to wire them, how to properly mount and set them up, and that would mean the shaft diameter would be perfect for the engine. The only problem is with it instantly engaging, I might smoke a few belts.

I'm going to wait until you post what your end game is with this project until I sacrifice a perfectly sharpened crayon on this one.
Details like - will this be used on or off road? Target top speed? Suspension? Tire size? Live axle or a diff? Total weight of kart and rider(s)?
All of this info and more is important to make informed choices on parts selection.
