Need help asap

I brought my kids a go kart frame an it came with a new predator 212 engine in box the guy told me that all the parts are there I just need to buy a clutch but I’m having a hard time figuring out wat clutch to get a friend of mine said he think u got to count the teeth on the sprocket so I did an got 54 t but when I got to google I’m getting the runaround somebody help me please

you also need to know what the pitch of your chain is....is it a #35...is it a #40...41...42. Because the chain must fit both the clutch sprocket and also the axle sprocket......ergo are they the same pitch ? They can easily be different, and you will be throwing chains all around the neighborhood !
and.........going nowhere !

Like redflash said, you must know what you already have first. Measure roller pin-to-roller pin to find 3/8" (#35) or 1/2" (#40, #41, #420) first.
If I had to guess, I'd say that's a #35 (3/8" pitch) sprocket, but don't take my word for it. Measure twice, cut your finger off once.

What they are failing to also tell you is that a centrifugal clutch ain’t gonna cut it with that gear ratio and big rear tires. You will be looking for a 30 series TAV II CVT kit. Throw away the belt in the kit and get a Genuine Comet replacement. The cheap 30 series TAV II on amazon work great.
