Need help/agree with me

Briggs model 311707 OHV 17 hp, engine has massive oil consumption issues, started all of the sudden after the crank flooded with gas (wasnt run that way for long). Im thinking it blew a head gasket, sound right? Engine also seems to have timing issues, you can crank it over all day long and it wont fire till I stop cranking, after tha it catches on and runs with exhaust pouring out of the crank breather, fouling plugs like crazy will only run with a platinum car plug.

Answered for myself, head gasket blowout between the pushrod cavity and jug, great internal shape for a 98, still has crosshatching on the cast iron lined bore. Ordering gasket, needle, and seat tomorrow.
