Need Crank seal.

So I got this Briggs engine off a pressure washer that my father in laws brother had put together. When I took the washer motor off I noticed there was no crank seal.
The air box said 6.5hp and the pull start said 5hp. There was also a sticker on the fuel tank that said Intek 190. I ran the number 121432 xx xxxx from the OHV cover, and the site said intek 206. The briggs site told me which seal to order for the crank.
I ordered it on ebay 99cents. When I got it it was way too big. I looked again at briggs online and found another number, So off the the local Mower shop. He swapped me seals no charge. That one did not fit either. Then I took the motor to them and they looked around and scratched their heads, and told me to leave the engine and they would do further research. I left it overnight but they never got around to it, and I needed to engine to finish fitting things on the Kart sprocket , chain etc.

Has anyone else had this problem? How many seals could there be?

Here's your problem, every part you mentioned is removable & changable; therefore, having a reliable source for the engine number is difficult unless you know the entire history of the engine...

Aside from that, every time they change the engine series, just about all parts change too... just like cars... you can't fit many parts from a '92 Camry onto a 2014 Camry... but, they're both Camry's, right? Not even close...

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I sympathise with you; once an amateur (no, not you) plays around with something they don't understand, all bets are off...

My guess is that you have an Intek OHV with a newer 5hp flathead recoil riveted to the blower housing. Look up the Intek 206 crank seals.

Yeah I know all the part numbers are mismatched. and there are a million engine series. I am gonna keep looking. I just wondered (hoped, was dreaming) maybe someone knew more than me and there was something goofy and simple with these seals.

Well.....what you need is some measuring devices....ideally...a dial caliper......

Measure the O.D. of the crankcase hole and the O.D. of the crankshaft....you now have your O.D. and I.D. respectively of the seal.....

If you have a compass...so much the better....you can make a template....anyway....there aren't that many different crank seals for a B&S
in that size range....you could count them on one hand.....
