If you want it to race, you are better off buying one from a company that's been doing it awhile. They have the experience and facilities to build a better chassis than you will be able to.

These frame rails mesure 33mm, with a 3mm wall thickness:

If u have the tools go for it if not modify the one u have.It will still be ur fabrication &ideas.
