Need Advice- Shifter Kart Project

i recently picked up a free go cart frame. it needs some work but i am looking to power it by a motorcycle engine. My question is what is the best way to hook up the transmission from the motorcycle engine? the cart does not have any suspension.

With a chain going from the trans to the axle, just like on the bike it came form.

should have been more specific. how do you hook up the clutch to work with the tranny? to shift gears just like it comes?

Here ya go

Then you can either run the clutch to a pedal next to the brake, or mount the lever right on the shifter.(Clutch connects via cable)
