Need Advice On Steering

Okay guys, I'm working on a go-cart and need some direction as to how to move forward with setting up steering.

I've taken an older cart and stretched the frame, and put independent suspension on the front that came off a chinese quad. Now, I need to figure out how to make the steering work.

What I need to find is some u-joints made for a steering set up so that I can get the steering rod over to a new location. Then I need a longer steering rod, or to lengthen the one. Anybody know where to find these items?

Rack and pinion would be the easiest wouldn't it?

I think I have it figured out. I'm using parts of the old go cart, and then I found some tie rods off a Yamaha Blaster ATV locally that will make the connections out at the wheels. Now I just need a little time to cut & weld it all together.
