Hey I have a Go-Kart with an engine that is about 49 to 50cc's in displacement I recently took of the air cooled cylinder head to clean the inside. But as i was trying to put the piston back inside the cylinder one of the rings snapped! So i pulled it off and tryed to start the negine with only 1 ring left. It started after a bit of cranking but the engine sounds clunky and stalls after a few seconds staying on idle. I can run it by keeping the revs up but it will stall if i close the throttle. What should I do, should i buy a new ring or would something else maybe be the problem? And if it is the ring i would need to know what sort of shops would sell 50cc piston rings? Could someone please help me out.

Yeh it is a 2 stroke but its a sort of HEMI as well the [piston and cylinder are both hemisperical. I don't really wanna put a whole new engine on so I will probly look for piston rinmgs but i don't really no where to look

yea, also they need some back pressure in the exhaust to start. so if you go straight pipes, have a reducer someware in the exhaust pipe :)

Good news, I have found some shops that might sell the rings i need. There is a market near where I live that has a shop that sells mini bikes and also there is a lawnmower shop near where I live which I hope sells engines as big as 50cc's
