Hi all,

I have a Murray Explorer that has a tweaked rear axle. It's ride-able, but if i can find a supplier i'd replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Or look for

"Flexpruf" go kart axle (made by azuza, lots of azuza dealers/resellers.

Most axles are 1" with 1/4" keyway. Could be a stepped axle or just 1" end to end.

Thank you, its helpful for thos of us who just bought a kart.

it is definitely a one inch diameter straight shaft, and I believe it is 36 inches long, but the key looks a wee bit smaller than 1/4". but with my 46 year old eyes kind of difficult to know for sure.

Does this sound like a stock axle to you?

Yes! It seems to be a 36" x 1" stepped axle (the step is a reduction to 3/4").

Take a look a this link:

I can look in the morning, at the one at my shop, but I'm pretty sure it's a straight 1" axle, no step..... I could be wrong though....

I have a couple more questions, but I'll just go one at a time here.

(I think a previous owner kind of messed up the back of this kart with oversized atv rims & tires, but one question at a time.)

Thanks again.

Oversized tyres will mess with your gearing, overheating/overworking your clutch to the point of failure
