been needing a trailer for a while

found this on friday
11 by 8 ft twin axle
built in my hometown
$1500

the paint job isnt too flash but no rust
all the lights work
it has drums but no cables or the hitch to actuate them
and i dont think the previous owner was aware what the dust covers are for
and they tyres are only just legal

so over the next few weekends
strip it
new hitch (and raise it to suit my pickup height)
brake hookup
new bearings
make some sides and a head board
then paint it

ill proberbly take the tyres off my sisters car as she has a hyundi elantra, useing the same wheels They're 60%
then get her new tyres for the car

BTW I suggest getting 6 ply for the truck and REAL trailer tires for the trailer as they have a stiffer sidewall if you plan on towing more then 1000 LBS on it

yea righto didn't know they made trailer tyres

its first mission is to move a pile of garden waste to the dump

but its to move my buggy around

Yes they do make trailer tires they have a stiffer wall but do NOT use them on a vehicle that is what 6 ply are for trailer tires have extra side wall rubber whereas vehicle 6-ply have more wire when you tow a trailer it swings majorly from side to side but a vehicle follows a guided trail by the front tires. Also not sure what your traffic rules are but here in Canada you can get a stiff fine for not having the proper tires on a trailer. Also make sure you have the right trailer hitch. If your trailer is equipped with an electric brake you MUST have it hooked up and working. Your trailer looks like a type 2 hitch so a 7 way plug is mandatory as may or not have electric brakes. Look on the back of the wheel hub for wires. If you see them then you must have a break away hookup and a battery mounted on trailer to supply power to the break away. Also you may need a trailer plate. Contact your motor vehicle licensing department to find out.

It's all licenced up

No there's no fine for the wrong tyres
Most people run the same theory as me

Run the car to almost stuffed and switch them to the trailer till they're down to the wire

It has cable drum brakes
But no cables

The hitch
Is a standard ball type
But it's doesn't have the brake mechanism on it

I believe our laws are a lot more slack

I know our heavy transport ones are
Our roads are built on very dry very solid ground
No snow melt or permafrost to worry about

So if it rolls safely u can tow it

In its current setup

Twin axle no brakes 750kgs
1600lb

The vehical can tow 6600 lb

Under the current west aus laws

Here in Oklahoma I don't even need that. But nice find I like the tow rig setup.
