My father and I bought this kart back in 1969. I was 14(slow face palm). The motor mount had already been altered to fit the 3HP Clinton 4-stroke it came with(see vintage photo). Later I changed to a 3hp copper colored Briggs. Played with it for a few years until girls started showing an interest in me, went to college, and started a career. In the early eighties, I stripped the kart down to bare frame to paint black and did not put it back together until about seven years ago when some friends gave me a broken pressure washer with a 6HP tecumseh. It survived all those years and two major moves with only one missing bearing dust cap. Best top speed was 31 mph. This past month, I bought a Harbor Freight Predator 212 engine and added a stage 3 mod kit. My last run was 50 mph with more to go but had to quit there because of running out of room to stop. That single drum brake can only do so much. Will try to add hydraulic disc if I can without modifying originality of the frame.

001.jpgNice Simplex!!! Here is mine....this photo was taken about 3 years ago. Since then I have used a yellow BSP Clone 196cc on it, plus I have a Chrysler West Bend Power Bee 580 2 cycle I am dying to try out. The upholstery was professionally made using the old stuff as a template. I have also powder coated007.jpg the original wheels. My winter project is to finally assemble this thing and ride it. Thanks for looking.
