here i present to you my past hobby..... that i had to get rid of because it cost so much....
ive had 2 r/c's. a ofna buggy (4.6cc) and a MGT 3.0 (3cc)

heres a pic..... im working on a video...

my plans are to take the remains of this truck (chassis shot, engine will never run again, tires are shot and gone) and use a 20cc leafblower engine in a custom chassis.

these little cars are pretty cool scaled down versions of buggy styled creations..... helped me understand alot rebuilding them.

i need to be able to make parts for this truck that dont break. lol.

how do they expect a plastic gear to take 40K RPM?

Ive got a team associated electric buggy and has the plastic gears too and i found that the stock ones strip pretty easily. However if you google it, i know you can actually get metal spur gears which are much stronger and quieter. But for a nitro rc car Im sure being quiet isnt your first priority haha!!

yeah, these are all the problems and purchases i have done, in order, to the best of my memory:

bought the truck...........................$275
1 gallon of bluethunder 20% sport...$40
batteries for remote (12)...............$10
stripped out spur gear (plastic).......$5
new glow plug..............................$5
broke pull start............................$15
stripped out spur gear again...........$5
blew the front differential..............(just kept driving!!)
broke another pull start.................$15
broke the one way bearing in starter..$15
new exhaust manifold...................$10
blew transmission........................$60
broke the dogbones (CV axle style)...$5
broke the gas tank in a runaway.......$10
new antenna tube...........................$3
new glow plug................................$5
new fuel lines................................$5
new carburetor (main jet broke off)...$40
new muffler support bracket............$5
new air filter.................................$5
new glow plug igniter.....................$20
rechargeable battery packs.............$40
dynamite battery charger...............$50
SNAPPED CHASSIS!!!.....................$55
extra radio crystals........................$5
tire glue.......................................$7
new engine head runied in rollover...$15
new differential............................$35
bevel gears (transmission part).......$12
throttle linkage.............................$5
chassis broke again.
engine block threads wore out.
another differential blew.
spur gear and clutch bell stripped out again.

^^^^ right about then,, after a year, the head bolts stripped out of the block. its screwed.

and i went through about 6 gallons of nitro through its life time.... thats.... $240 in fuel!!!

so thats why i quit r/c. i still have the remains of it in a box..... at least it has a good diff. and transmission. no chassis.

EDIT: i dumped hundreds into this every month. looking back i was pretty stupid....
i havent drove it in about 2 years.

I know how ya feel blue, I was addicted to r/c Cars I have a traxxas nitro rustler with a 3.3 cc engine in it that tops at 62 mph but it kept on stripping those nylon spur gears. Ive spent atleast 1000$ on that thing. If anyone wants it I'll sell it for 500 I just want it gone.

ive been into these things for years. i have two savages now , one pretty much stock and one has about 800$ in it. savages have always been the most dependable nitro trucks and can take a serious beating but when you jump them 30 ft in the air at 50 mph ..... somethings gotta give eventually.

hahaha i had an ofna violator 9.5 with an HPI nitro star F4.1 engine in it and some anodised clutch shoes with a 34mm flywheel it looked sick! also i had a T-Maxx all stock with the TRX3.3 engine and an S-Maxx with a trx2.5 i broke so many turnbuckles with those traxxas r/cs but it got so expensive so i sold most of the stuff. Unfortunately i only sold the ofna for like 155 on ebay.
