I've been real busy and haven't had much time to post progress. Been working on it since January little by little. Pretty much got majority of the trike finished. I need to run brake lines and finish up motor. I'm running a predator 6.5 with a nr racing stage 3 kit, at least I will be when I get extra cash for parts. Haha
Frame is 1.5" .095 tubing, all bent with Woodward fab bender I purchased. Definitely has been a learning experience, tube bending more difficult than it looks. As you can see I went with hydraulic disc brakes, chromoly axle and 6" Douglass wheels. Front wheel is 4" wide and still tossing around whether or not to put front brakes on or not.

Are gonna put those plastic tire covers on this. Almost sounds like you wont need them with a stage 3 kit. But if you do A front brake may make it a little funner.

I have a set and will probably use for fun, but I think your right with a front brake and some power behind it I think it will be just as fun without them!

That looks awesome! Getting close to the end. I just started one a couple days ago. I'm trying to decide on which size wheels and tires to run. You're running a 6" wheel and what size tire? Is the overall dimension 10 inches for PVC?PE pipe?

Did you piece the live axel together? I haven't seen one like it for sale.

Thanks

I'm actually running a 11-8.10-6 tire in the back. A 10" pvc sleeves fits nicely. Just deflate tire slide sleeve on and inflate and your ready to roll. Honestly only reason I used this size was because I had the set of wheels already and was running out of fun money:2guns:

I did buy the rear axle in pieces. I purchased hangers, bearings, axle, and hubs all from bmi karts.

I will definitely run a 5" wheel next time, seemed to be able to find 5" tires a lot easier.

Thanks I appreciate it. I'm trying to figure out my wheel and tire size now. I really want to go with a 6 inch wheel. 5x5 seems like it's more common.

I just ordered a 40 inch axel, and the bearing and hanger kit from BMI as well.

I'm planning on running a 11x5.50x6 rain tire. Trying to decide on the wheel now. Do you have any recommendations on what size would work the best?

Thanks

You know this project was pretty much trial and error so I really couldn't give too many recommendations. I pretty much just went with what fit, and that didn't work out too well several times. :lolgoku:
What are you making your frame out of? If you decide to go with a fat wheel in the front you can pick them up from the_bikesmiths store on eBay. Stay away from Choppers US, that guy is a crook. I ordered a custom wheel from him waited over 7 weeks and got every excuse in the book of why it was not ready.

No worries. That's pretty much the same boat I'm in.

I used a piece of 1" 3/4 .120 wall. Some stuff I had laying around from a set of rock sliders. It's no where near as elaborate as your frame. LOL. I'll post some pics soon.

Yes, I want to put a 26x4 front wheel on it. I'm trying to piece the wheel, tire, and forks but it's cheaper to just buy the bike. I'm thinking about buying the triax fracture and chopping it up.

I'll check those guys out on eBay. Did you get the fork from the_bikesmiths as well as the wheel?

Thanks for the info on the other guy I'll steer clear of him. Hope you got your money back.
