Here is my project i started last week. Its my old go kart frame from when i was a kid. I decided to dig it out of junk pile. I have some plans for it. I have bought some stuff so far and have some more to buy. I built the folding sawhorses just for this project but will be able to use them of house projects too. I bought 12 ton pipe bender and 14" cutoff saw and brougjt my mig welder and plasma cutting from the shop to my house also. Should be a fun project.

Here is a list of some of the stuff
1" live axle swap including drum brake, chain sprocket, locking collars, chain and clutch
Predator 212cc 6.5hp engine
Throttle cable kit
All new wheels and tires
Bucket seat

I have been collecting steel pipe and other pieces of metal to modify frame. I have been prepping frame for mods. After removing front spindles i decided i need a new spindle kit since the old ones are worn and not exaclty the same. I will update thread when i get more progress.

Good luck with your project,

Welcome as well....we're a helpful bunch here....and if you post up what you are considering buying ahead of time...many folks here will be happy to help shop and steer you in the best direction.

BMI is good, but often pricey on shipping....

Yeah Po Boy,
BMI is a little high on shipping but I think it is to discourage you from placing small 1 item orders, still a great place to do business with. Your doing well with response of your first post I have yet to get a single response to mine ( I type with a little tear running down my cheek HA! ) Guess I should have put my intro under project log!

Worked on the frame Saturday. Not the best but im likeing the outcome. Its going to have some good ground clearance so i can offroad with it some lol. Its coming together. Tomorrow ill be figuring out front steering and spindles. Hopefully its a rolling chassis soon. I couldnt get my welder adjusted right for somwreason so some of the welds are the best but they are strong.

I am not too sure if someone has mentioned it yet, but those front wheels look like harbour freight dolly wheels. They will not work and will self destruct in minutes. There is enough evidence of this for it to be a fact

Frame is looking good!

They're still crap!!! The steel may be a little stronger....but the bearings are crap...and....if those are crap....chances are...so are the vinyl tires!!!

Well if the bearings go out I'll replace them with better ones, and the tires are rubber not vinyl.

I have looked at the bearings from both and the ones on the kart wheels are better than the hf dolly ones, they aren't sealed bearings but they are stronger.

Oh....yeah..."nylon".....isn't that what ladies use to cover their legs?????

Go ahead...replace the bearings, get new RUBBER... and you'll have a decent wheel for jeeessst a lil' more than a good one would have cost in the first place...
