I'm sure it is and it looks decent but with rusted mufflers.
Briggs Twin 16HP
Also, that 40 series TC looks very pricey unless I can find one off of a donor kart.

Scratch that. Motor sold. I blame BriggsTwins. I told him about it cause he, too, is in PGH and I didn't want to pay for the 40/44 series TC, so I told him.

and why must you fail me strikethrough

Legality? It's a go kart mate, they're never gonna be legal on the road anyway!

To be fair, that looks like one fugly go kart =|

Thought I would add this to everyone's surprise, I called the police to see where I could drive my go kart legally, and they replied by saying "ANYWHERE BUT THE HIGHWAY!" We then called the probation office to check, and they said the same thing! Im in Canada btw. :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:

F*** CANADA! lol I don't think that would fly in many parts of the US. I have friends who will take quads 1/2 mile to someones house and have to put it in the garage upon arrival because the police come looking for them. Maybe the neighbors are just jealous, they're not that loud. Come on now like there's always some kid who decides subwoofers in the trunk are a good idea. That's worse than a kart. (IMHO)

Bloody hell?! Thats the equivalent of about £600 on an engine?!

I could buy a scrap GSXR600/CBR600, strip it and sell un-needed bits, then build a complete kart from scratch with that cash! And it'd be faster!

You must have missed my previous posts about a decent shape briggs 16HP v twin for $125 aka about 70 pounds roughly I think.

I know I see guy riding there dirt bikes across the road all the time in a open feild, and guy riding there dirt bike on the road, so it may be alright around here to.

Basically in Ontario, it works like this. Not on public roads, period. Private property is fine, as long as you have the landowner's permission. Noise and disturbance bylaws are a whole different thing.

choosing premium gas will only solve the problem of people once thinking you had any intelligence. There will be no guessing of your ignorance, then.

Premium gas is not a bad idea to run in small engines. Their fuel consumption is so low and the gas really is a higher quality, its like 20-30 cents more a gallon and think how many hours a gallon gets you. Additionally, I run ethanol treatment in my small engines because most gas is cut with 5-15% ethanol which is not great for them.

Octane isn't quality, and premium will leave no more deposits than 87 octane. Major consumer misconception. You will get no more power, either. If any, less than .2 of a percent.

It's just another thing to add to the list of things rednecks hate - ethanol. Much like racism, it's illogic and ignorance that is at the base.

Check marinas in your area (if you have big lakes rivers etc). Ethanol does nasty things to boats a lot of them here on the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac rivers still sell ethanol free gas, I would hope other marinas are doing the same.

yea ethanol is one of the hated things among us rednecks. lol

If ethanol gas sitts up in a carb bowl for more than 3 or 4 days it gets gummy almost like jelly, then if it sits there a long time it turns to a sandy substance.

High grade gas does help a little, its about like running on year old gas compare to new gas.

As far as carbon deposits, run anything on cheap gas for a year, then run one on good gas for a year. I can about garentee there will be more carbon with cheap gas.

I may be wrong though.

I agree with you Dirt. For the minimal extra cost per gallon, the higher price is well worth it as well as the addative that somehow neutralizes the ill affects of tree huggers.

Cat 99 belts can still be found out there occasionally (worse case senario they are really just worn down series 30 belts). Also you can make your cat 99 assembly into series 30 using spacers. Its not easy to find the washers but its not too hard to accomplish.

OK, I picked it up last night and it's a bit rusted but not unsalvageable (if that's a word). I may use a CAT99 belt or go to the local hardware store and look around.
