:iagree: this is good. when you do a test run please try to get it on video. do a simple walk around explaining stuff and some driving. I'm sure lots of people would like to see that.

Thanks guys I will try to. I only have a cell phone, actually all the pics were taken with this phone, but I will see how it goes with the cell phone movie camera. If not Ill see about my friends Iphone to film it.

Well boyz, I gotter done.......ok.... all but a seat.

I went a had a ride, it had been itching me for a wile now.

First I put on some front brakes from a mountain bike and a fork brace. I figured it could help when stoping on lower speeds and comming to a complete stop with main brakes. The rear brake works great.
My friend and I were looking at the brakes and he wondered on how they were for stopping, so out we were trying to do a running push and stop on that it worked good. But I was saying, hell I just giver a run what the heck.

So my first run was ok. The throttle response at first was allright and brakes work just as expected, with a little skidding to a halt, just what I wanted.
My buddy gaver a go aswell. About the end of his run I went again, and I noticed that it was starting to kinda slow on response on the throttle. It was like is wasnt getting enough either throttle or maybe the engine was needing more oil( like it had slowed down due to the motor burning it up?) Im not totally small motor savvy yet, more mechanical and building inclined, but this is why I started this in the first place to start understanding things like this.
Well It had baffled me as to what the problem was, but after an hour I had found it out.

On the Honda clones, the throttle has a "nut" with a small screw and a hole for the throttle cable to pass through it,it pivots and it can change place as to where the throttle will be placed(for those that didnt know, I just leaned this so im passing it along). This nut on mine has a screw with a Phillips head, well the **** thing strips out when u need to tighten the cable down, and it did. I found out when squeezing the throttle, the lever where this nut is on was only about half or less than the way open. There's your problem.
I had rummaged around in a bunch of stuff, the motor being metric was difficult to find a suitable screw to replace it, I found some in a bag of contactor parts that I was meaning to throw out but kept because... IT MIGHT BECOME USEFUL ONE DAY, well that happen a few times on this project. There was some screws that held the device together and they have a wonderful Torx style of head, so less stripping out of the head to tighten, at first the thing wasnt fitting right but Aftrer a few tries it worked, I was F-ing happy. put her all together and tried her out.

OMG the thing jumped when I gaver, it was AWESOME. I was ripping up the alley pretty fast, much faster than before, brakes held and were great. Over all I am just beaming. Tomorrow I will giver again to confirm my results.
I HAVE PICS AND VIDS BUT NOT YET.......SOON. my buddies camera didnt work well with my computer but will get them soon.

One last thing before I go.... The thing I did what helped the most for the throttle cable, was tinning the end with solder. What had caused the problem with the previous setup, was that the cable although small in diameter the thing frayed when crimped by the throttle lever "Nut". After tinning the cable has enough stability to be held by the screw and wont fray. Now this is minor, but I think an important thing that was kinda missed in some throttle hook-up threads that should be added.

So gents Im basically done, and it works. sorry about the long winded post but Im just happy to talk about what I have done.

I forgot a few pics I did have, but I will get the vids and other riding pics from my friend soon.
Any ways.. Here's some that I took yesterday. My woman had bought me a atv/motorbike lift jack, it was on sale at princessauto for something like $78, I did want it but she went out and surprised me with it when she was out. Its pretty nice. She also bought me a touch up sand blaster.



And here's some of the brakes I used, simple but I only used them in a slow to a stop while basically walking the bike. I had to strip off all the paint and also make the brace for them to mount onto.

Ya it was F-ing cool, im going for another run later today after I get a helmet from my storage unit. We have a nice paved alley down the way that is relatively unused so Ill rip down there. Ill see if I can maybe tape the phone onto the helm or something else to show it in action.

I went out today, what a riot, this thing hauls *** pretty quick. there was a point where after it speed up the thing was really taking off like it had some nitrous or something. I guess the power band was optimal at that point for the gear ratio. None the less it was awesome. I havent ridden a motor bike in a long time last was a honda somthing 80cc, that was cool but mine is much better.

On that cross bar, it sounds crazy and it kinda is, but It had good stability even though I had no seat. Several times I had to lift up cause there was some pot holes in the dirt alley, but on the other side road and around the block it was fine at speed. I would have to guess I was going at least 60kph but I didnt have it flat out yet it was still climbing.

Ya the best part for me, it was free, just found it walking home from work one day in the back parking lot of a church. It looks like it was never used, I guess some one took it out for more room in their car and didnt pick it up( it sat there for a couple of days before I picked it up).

It looks like your muffler will be a little close to the crown jewels!!

It is a bit, altho I went ripping around I hardly noticed it, with the seat on it will have a heat shield to deflect. Later on I will put on a longer pipe, so the heat shield wont be so necessary.

Hey guys, I did some more work on my bike.
About a week ago or so, I whipped up a seat so I could go riding about the block. Its a foam pad used for putting under your knees when gardening, I had it for a while now and did plan to use it for seat material.
Here's what I came up with, I havent got it covered and mounted but good old duct tape works well.


The last couple of days I have been working up something for a rear fender. I didnt have much for sheet metal and havent found much in the way of it out and about.
Here in Canada, we can get a lot of ammo cheap, predominately 7.62x39 Czech surplus steel core. It usually comes in a wooden crate and inside, a galvanized steel sheet metal tin box, that has a soldered tin lid. You have to open it like an old fashioned tin can or corned beef tin.

After a few crates I have gone through I had some of the lids that I was going to throw out but did get around to it. I was looking for some other stuff and I remembered these lids I had in some scrap bins. so after a wile mulling it about I thought Id use these lids for the rear fender. I bent the edge and riveted the pieces together, I also wired the edge with some of the election picket sign material I found (3/16 cold finish rods). The struts are some some bars that go along the edge of a chainlink fence, when the tie it to a post they use these bars through the fencing material. I got a bunch for free one time from an in-law. They have a 1/2" washer welded to the end and mount to the longer pillow block axle bolts, it also has some short carriage bolts and wing nuts to secure the fender to this on the bike.





So thats basically what I have so far. Have to make some grips and a heat shield, the latter isnt as much needed as the grips though.
