My Kart - Have Any Suggested Design Improvements?

Anyways... Anyone have any design suggestions for my DIY go kart? I bought the frame and made a few additions and improvements.

My Kart:
- 8 HP B & S engine
- 13 x 6.00 x 5 wheels (not installed yet, old wheels still seen in the pics)
- 1" keyed live axle
- disc brake system on axle

Any design improvement advice/suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

I'm confused as to what that sprocket welded to a nut on the drive chain is? I've never seen that before. Is it some sort of tensioner?

I just noticed the same thing.

Also what additions and um improvements did you do ?
