my headlight solution

while the battery is temporary as being stolen off my chief wakeskate winch the headlight setup is trail tested and here to stay, I had a coupon for these fog lights only $9.99 at Harbor Freight, I was inspired by a post on here so I welded the included mounting nuts inside of some pipe I had lying around (I frequently weld nuts inside of round and square tube, make sure you go SLOW, only a little spot weld at a time as to not burn up your materials, also I use a "junk" bolt to hold the nut in place while I weld, the bolts used in the actual project are never exposed to that kind of heat), I then welded the pipes to the spindles so the lights follow the wheels, oh and our seat came in today if you noticed from other thread..

consider the pipes the "tabs", had I welded tabs to the frame, the lights would not follow the wheels, HERE is where I got my inspiration, did you notice in the video that where ever I turn, thats where the lights point? that is what I was going for

I thought they were very practical, yes I need to spend some more time adjusting the pitch and angle but for $10 how can you go wrong? my family has a cabin in northern arizona and I see us coming home after dark after a day of karting so lights are critical

well its kinda funny but still like I said, I'm not missin the $10, since I set up the kart for these I'll prob get another pair and then add some JB around the tack welds, let me just say trying to re-weld these lights was a bad idea....

ya. i bet the metal on the brackets are too thin and weak to weld. you would probably have to braze it. you could try making your own bracket out of a bit thicker steel.

it wasnt the brackets but the metal lens housing that burned up on my lowest setting and then the **** glass shattered
