my go kart wont start help

today i put a new drive shaft in my 6.5 hp motor and now it wont start

Is that anything like a crankshaft? If so...did you time it correctly?

ya the crank shaft and i did have the time right i took off the cap were the valves are and the connecters were off the spings and lifters so i put the back on

humm i could have screwed up the timing i was in a hurry, could it be a broken piston ring??

Unlikely...I used to run engines with rings that had multiple breaks. Life expectancy will be shortened.

thanks, i know you can over tighten the connecters on the lifters and springs because i screwed up two lifters and replaced them, could it be from over tighting them or do you think its the timeing ???

Rocker arms/push rods have a minimum clearance. If too narrow or too wide will cause major probs. Check manual for proper cold clearance and adjust accordingly.

Possibly...difficult to tell without "hands on".
Use thickness gauges when adjusting.
