hey i wanna show you guys my project is going. it first started 2 months ago when i went over to my neighbors to say hello when he was moving this go kart i asked him if he was throwing it away and he sayed yeah and i offered him $15 and he accepted it. so bring it home and start working on it rite away buy then i got off track and 1 month later i got this old sway bar that was 5ft long and i built the rear end so it has shocks and the old seat rest i took off completely so i can put on a adjustable seat i got some pics after the little rebuild. in the pics its at an angle because thats the angle is gonna be at when its done. so i got a 6.5 hp greyhound for it with a jackshaft(which i need gearing help to figure good ratio) and im gonna buy hydraulic caliper for 10 bucks where i got the shocks so yeah p.s the shocks arnt mounted on the seat rest its just showing them off and i got some pics of a-arms im gonna make:thumbsup:

Great start. I went with roughly the same rear end suspension design as you're using on my kart pictured below. The design works really well generally.

The shocks you're using look heavier than mine - which is a good thing. Mine are slightly undersized. Happy Building!

In the first pic, it looks like the bottom shock mount is too close to the pivot, or fulcrum. Do a mockup by setting the frame on blocks where the axle will go, then sit on it where the seat will go. If the kart bottoms too much or seems too springy, mount the bottom of the shocks further rearward.
If you make a mount with several sets in a row, it will be adjustable even.
Have fun with your build! :cheers2:

I second the idea of a slotted mount if space is available so that you will be able to adjust the suspension.
