wel, we'v decided to swap it to a live axle setup with a disk brake, and run the centrifical clutch, this is a dangerousely low budget build, i knw we won't get the most outta the engine, but, oh well

be careful you dont wad yourself up on that thing, that this is gonna have major understeer.a 5 or 6hp and a centrifugal clutch ould be ideal on that platform.

i'll be able to handle it, haha, 5hp's are too boing and so are 6's i need power, and with the tire size, i don't think a 6 hp would get me anywhere fast

Jackshaft time. 10 on the clutch 15-18 on the jackshaft then 10 to 44 on the other end of the jackshaft. If I'm thinking straight 10 to 15 then 10 to 44 would come out at 6.6:1? It's late please correct me.

Good God, my suggestion of gearing counted in for a Torque Converter... without that your only option is to fix gearing through a Jack-Shaft, and you may never be happy with the ratio.

On my kart in progress :mad2: I'm running a TC with 10 teeth to a rear of 54 on 18" golf cart tires. I know you have said anything over 15 needs a TC or ungodly ratio to move with a cent. clutch.
