my first project

I bought this streaker for 100 dollars. I had to fix the throttle body and connect the throttle cable. I took it for a test drive and the new clutch, put on by the previous owner, started to smoke. Anybody got any idea of what it is? Any comments would be appericated. Thanks

That kart originally had a torque converter on it.

It looks like a larger sprocket was put on the axle and a centrifugal clutch was put on the engine shaft.

The centrifugal clutch will keep smoking/burn up because the tires are so big.

If you put a 30 series torque converter on it, it will not have these problems

Thanks for the lesson guys. I found 1 on ebay for 125.00 I just need to figure out the shaft size tomorrow.

More than likely, it's a 3/4" shaft but, there's a slight chance it's 5/8"...
