First i would like to say hallo to everyone in this forum cuz im new here and not really into go karts so thats why i will be asking here for everything that im not sure. When i get everything clear ill collect some money and maybe the next summer ( u know gotta study now etc..) ill start doing it. I really wanna do one. I dont wanna buy one.. i wanna BUILD one!
Okay so there is a rough skech, plan, call it whatever u like. I made it with paint and ill need some help about it. SO the question is are these sizes (in the picture) ok and if they are how long should my rear axle be? Have in mind that i wanna put some big rear wheels like 18'' or 14''.( not exactly sure which would be better- there are some links-http://www.thecartdepot.com/tir-213.html http://www.thecartdepot.com/tir-230.html http://www.bmikarts.com/item/18-Knobby-TireRim-Assembly-260018-105 ) There are some tires 22x11-8.. i dont understand whats this so if someone could explain would be great!

First up, welcome to the forum. Now, I'll start from the end & work back:
Tyre dimensions (in most cases) are represented as overall height x width x rim diameter. so, the tyres in both links would be 18" high x 9.5" wide to fit an 8" rim.

Your measurements are close, with a little refining it will work well. I've found that the easiest way to gain measurements is to measure yourself & use that as a guide.

For example; to work out how long to make it, sit with your back against a wall, legs straight out & toes pointing up. Now measure from the wall to your heels & subtract 100 - 150mm (4 - 6"); that's the length from the seat back to the pedals. The subtraction is because your knees should be bent & the amount depends on your age & height (if you're young, you still have more growing to do).

The distance from the seat back to the rear should be 400 - 500mm depending on your engine. Width comes down to how long it is. A good wheelbase:track ratio is around 4:3. So, if the distance from the front axle to the rear axle is 1200mm then your axle should be at least 900mm. This ratio can go up to 1:1 which will give you better handling & turning circle.

Tell us about yourself, either here or, preferably, in the introduction section: Age, skill level, experience, available tools, anything else you feel may be relevant

Thank you really much, Fabroman!
Your info helps a lot and i think ill need more of ur knowledge for the future :D About me.. im 16 years old which i guess says it almost all. Ive got no expirience but im decided to do a go kart, im even thinking to make a body when everything is fine but thats too far. For now im just thinking how to making and how to collect money :D My skill level is based on what i have read here and in some other forum so its not really high. Well thats pretty much how i did the measurements. I sat down and even made something like paper frame just to measure :D Im 186-188cm high so thats why ill need a pretty much big kart :D I want to ask what tires should be better for rear tires. the 22x11-8 or 18x9,5-8. I gues the 18x9,5 are big enough but still asking. My engine, well as i want to be a shifter kart ill try to find engine from honda cr250. Thats it for now ill be back tonight with new measurements:) Btw is the frame design good? I wanted it to be something like AmEx manco dingo but not exactly the same. Im gonna use steel square pipes 30x30x3 or 30x30x2 (mm).

Thank you landuse, this will help a lot too. I think ill need to use my online dictionary cuz u know .. there are some mechanic terms etc... I might use 25x25x2 (or 3) square tubes if i want to do a body for the kart and that will make the construction a bit lighter.

25x25x2 is plenty, even 1.6 will be ok; better to use large thin wall material than small thick wall.

18" tyres are way too big foe a shifter kart; Manco AmEx use 15" tyres (I think).

The design itself seems ok...
