basically this is just for some flatland and tail riding. my bro inlaw and nephew have pre runner trucks that i will be trailing behind. theres not too many places near me to ride so this is just a project to add some fun in life, need that at 48 years old.

i respect any and all comments and criticism regarding build.

i need opinion on front end width. using my setup the width to the spindle bolt (ball joint thing) is 48 to 49 inches. is this too wide?

i started with this that weighed a ton at first.

the chopping off stage of whats no longer needed.

no more heavy front

no more solid heavy rear

cannandale front a-arms to be used

just for a start i am putting this to see how it will do. then if need be i will do a 16hp one.

Yep, that was a builders home made buggy copying the Odyssey. It looks like an Ody but nothing is from the Odyssey.

I also say 16hp for sure. Or even a bike or sled engine. An air cooled sled engine would be killer. Get the whole sled for doner parts and clutches.

It may be to wide. What would you bolt the upper shocks to? You can narrow the nose on your frame?

Cut that huge 1/4" plate of steel out of the frame as well.

I have an Odyssey front end I will sale you. Steering wheel to wheels.

This would give you steering shaft, steering column, steering wheel, throttle lever, brake lever, cables, pitman arm, tierods, spindles, hubs, shocks and wheels for $75 plus shipping.

You would kill a lot of birds with one $75 stone.

Basicaly everything in the last pic but no tires and add a steering wheel like in the pics. I can cut the main bar out of a spare frame I have. Just drill a hole in the side of your frame on both side and slide the main bar in and weld. Your A-arm set up would work beter though. Just trying to help out.

Ok so I decided to narrow the front end about ten to 11 inches which now makes it 38 ball joint to b- joint.

Also took advice and also ordered the 16hp motor. Now I can fab swing arm when motor gets here.

I don't like quiet motors. Can I just fab up an open header, no baffled and have no problems.

Narrow your front end to match up with a rack & pinion, if you plan on using one, this will save you a lot of front end geometry problems.

Dude you should jump on this. I found this in your local Cl. Look at the pics below. Notice how far back the engine sits in the Yamaha YT's. This makes for a compact engine swing are conversion. You get engine and axle and swingarm in on deal.

$140 or $240 he stated both.

The pics are the one I have, But the yt125 is the same but with solid front forks. Look how short the chain is. These are perfect conversion trikes or doners. The hondas have the engine all the way up by the front fender making them to long for conversions. The yamahas are compact into the rear on the trike. Oh yah brakes to. You would have to widen the axle though. Or spacers... May be to narrow depending what axle stuff you can still get for these trikes.
