Got this go kart for $50
Came with a 250cc Yamaha motorcycle engine from 1978. I got it running. And after some research I found out what the kart was. And decided besides jerryrigging this thing I'm going to chop it up and make something else. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415473818.103553.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415473826.737629.jpg

Decided I'm going to build a race lawn mower with either this dirt bike motor or the one out of my tw200.

It will have front and rear disk brakes

This kart is not mine. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415473896.461550.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1415473904.776456.jpg

If you have any pointers let me know.

OH HE!! NO! That thing looks cool, leave it alone; if you want to build a racing tractor, go ahead but, don't butcher that kart; with a bit of work, it will be awesome...

Yeah, i think you let it be and build this one up, and then start a completely different build for the racing lawn mower

And you got this for a steal mostly with that awesome engine, for 50

Yeah fearlessfront built this. It's awesome.

That kart frame is already messed up. The last person who owned it stretched the frame poorly and put a different rear axle and it's all done really bad. It's going to cost me $$$ to repairs it. Needs new rear axle. Needs rear brake caliper. Motor needs exhaust redone. Need to make a clutch cable set up. The clutch springs are way too strong and it breaks a normal clutch cable to pull it.

I would save time and have more fun with the race mower.

I got a mower frame tonight and took it all apart. Going to take it to my shop tmro and clean it up. After work I mean. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415498861.080138.jpg

It's still going to be a awesome build, but you should use the Yamaha 250 motor cycle engine, on the racing lawn mower

The 250cc needs a carb boot ($40) needs clutch cable bracket (still haven't found) I might be able to reengineer the clutch leaver on the motor. Needs the exhaust redone.

The 250 is a 2 stroke so it has a huge tuned exhaust pipe. So with the space a mower had I don't think I can use it.

So what do you plan on doing with the engine then

Also need gel on rear axle. Not sure what all I need.
I'm going to use pillow bearing for the strength and a 1" axle. But where to get the axle and brake rotor and sprocket/sprocket hub

Does anyone know the spindle bolt size for the hubs? The spindles are off Taotao atk 125. With front disk brakes. Looks like this. So I can find out what parts I need. And what bolt pattern the hub is. How do I find out the bolt pattern. It's a 3 bolt.
