Hello,

I'm Tarun from Mumbai, India. I'm planning to build my first go-kart within the next month. So far I've procured the following parts.

- x4 Bajaj Rickshaw Wheels + Tires
- x4 Matching Free Rolling Bearings/ Hubs
- x1 Bucket(ish) Seat
- x1 Racing Steering Wheel
- x2 Bike Mirrors
- x4 Lights

I'm not the best with mechanics so I'm hoping you guys will be able to guide me a lot as I take pictures of the progress. I am having someone weld the frame for me on Sunday, which is going to probably be totally free styled on the day as I'm following a mixture of plans, but basically it will stick to the single seat style from the plans on this site, with the exception of a simple roll cage to cover my head. I'm building this mainly for the beach, we have hard sand here so I'm going with a live axle and hoping the skinny rickshaw tires don't dig in!! (Only readily available/suitable wheel/tire I could source here)

My welder is going to use 17 gauge steel box sections to construct the entire thing as he said he can't source a pipe bender for the rolled steel. I'm ok with this, as I don't think it's going to be the best looking kart out there, but I'm mainly making it for some fun at the beach, so as long as it's sturdy enough I think it will be ok.

I'm building the rolling frame first without the engine at hand, I guess I will just modify the rear part once I source the engine. Which will most likely be a Honda Kinetic Scooter Engine - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic_Honda 98cc 2 stroke or something similar, whatever I find at the second hand market.

Building this to a small budget, and I'm kind of in at the deep end... So I hope it doesn't end up not working out or even worse, being a waste of time once it's done lol... I'm sure with this forums good guidance it won't be!

Any ideas for frames please feel free to throw at me before Sunday!

Welcome and Good luck with your build.

The pictures you have posted, remind me of a backwards crime scene, ... of a stolen car. It appears as if they stolen everything that they usually leave behind. What you have pictured here is usually the parts you will never see again. :D
