Yes to both. Had alot of fun with my auto teacher- old German guy- Mr. Schalburg. Everytime he left the room, about six of us would pick up his prized VW Beetle, rotate it 180* and set it back down. We'd see him come back in, Pause briefly looking puzzled, sometimes shake his head, and get back to things. One day, he musta stepped out a dozen times, and I swear he musta thought he was losing it!
In fact, he already lost it. He used to tell us that he had a bush pilot buddy of his periodically fly him over his house to see if his wife was cheating!!!
And I'll never forget how he taught us how to hand-pack wheel bearings, he said "Ziss schtuff schticks to your hands like someting schticks to ze sheets!" LMAO!

Great stuff! That front end should work out - but if it doesn't you may have room to do 2 tie rods if it doesn't work out - no biggie.
I converted a rigid buggie to rear suspension only this winter. What I've found is that it steers a whole lot better. I think it's because that any unevenness in the pavement is sucked up by the rear suspension - therefore letting both front tires stay in contact even though they are still fixed to the frame. This said, perhaps you'll notice that same good road manners in your kart.

Tell ya what: I get my hands on a little two-seater, I'll be doing the Mex blanket seatcover, plus some other "old's cool" stuff. I plan on making a neat little swap meet cruiser when I can find the right chassis ..... dinero's a little tight right now, so that project's on the back burner.

Great job on your build.
