Having now the measures that i think are the correct for the Mainframe (stretch a little), normally I use the Golden Section (1.6180) for all. So I have to give about 100mm (3 15/16") to each side of the Kart. So my Kart final measures are going to be 100" Long x 61" Wide.

I'm starting the Arachnid, and stretched to plus 220 mm on the Mainframe, considering to put them wider plus 200 mm.

I work in aeronautical industry, and finish the day is work place clean and all the tools stored on the place, is an habit. :D

Start with Mainframe, I have made a kind of jig in my work table. Then I give it some points of weld, turn it around to confirm that the frame is equal on both sides, more point of weld.
At last a good weld on top and bottom.

As you can see on the video below, the frame is symmetric.

The frame is a little bit wide, and longer, than the original plan

Could someone in the forum give me inner dimension of the brackets that are used on the arachnid plan?
It's only to have an idea, I'm going to made those for the kind of hinges that I'm planning to do.
And if is not ask to much the dimensions of the weldments for the rear axle.

Thanks.

So, my Lower Mainframe is fully welded and ready to join the upper frame. Waiting for the hinges between the Mainframe and Sub-Frame, that I have designed.

Today spent my time on the Mainframe that is almost complete. This is what the plans say, during this week, I try to made the modifications that I have planned. First I have finish all the weldings.

The lower frame is a little bit rusty, Last week rains a lot, and humidity is high, nothing that a good sand and epoxy should resolve.

These are the bushings that I'm going to use on the A-Arms. The bolt is typical aviation AN bolt.

that thing ALREADY LOOKS HEAVY!

not sure what motor you're going with though, with enough power the weight wont matter one bit.

Not so heavy, the bolt in diameter is 3/8, and the recommended from the plan is 5/8, in this part is a little bit lighter. The black bushing is auto lubricated nylon, very strong and very light, the steel bushing, similar to th plan in measures. I think is a little bit lighter than what the plans recommended so far. The engine, I didn't know for sure what is going to be, but more than 25HP, is what I plan for.

The front suspension block is in place, and the jig for the A-Arms is in construction. At this point I can see that the frame have a :censored: 1 or 2 mm torsion :mad2:, and is on a hard surface clamped to distortion, I think that tomorrow it will be on the place. Thanks r97, I will try to make it perfect and with a lot of improvements.
