So I've been tossing around the idea of a go kart for a few years now. At first I wanted a panther style kart with a snow machine motor on it but that has sense passe. A few weeks go I got my hands on an American Sports Works scorpion Frame with everything there just no engine. I have already started working on it replaced the axle bearing and dust seals and a few other things but my question now is what to power it with. I would really like to have a larger ATV engine so that I can have the gear range and reverse, but I have also thought about the 22hp harbor freight motors and a torque converter or even a motorcycle engine. I ant it to be fun to ride but not so fast it gets boring mostly for trails riding and some mudding. Any help is greatly appreciated.
