My first build for my son and I

Hey I’m working on a build right now, it’s for my son and I. He’s five and has Autisim (high function, non-verbal) the Kart is going to be for when we go tol Autisim awareness fundraisers and outings. I wanted to know if anyone here sells or has spare Kart parts that they no longer need? The deadline for my build is May 1st and I’m in the beginning process of planning. If anyone can help out with my build please let me know.

Welcome to the forum! I don’t know exactly what terrain the kart will be used on, but I would guess nothing too rough or off road? You would probably be fine with a one wheel peel, or dead axle kart. Are you already building or fixing a kart? If you haven’t started yet, I would recommend finding a used kart on Craigslist or the like, and then fixing it up. Especially if you only have 3 months.

As far as buying parts goes, BMI karts, gopowersports, and eBay are all good resources.

Building and construction activities are a very good way to explore and even possibly discover unrealized talent and or abilities in children with HFA ASD and their parents

How is your son with loud sounds ?

So do you know if you are going to start off with a go kart frame or are you planing to design and build the frame with with your son?

If you haven't ever built a frame before i would strongly suggest getting a cheap frame off the internet as many things need to be precisely placed in order for your kart to function correctly with minimal problems
You might want to check Craigslist or the new apps that are out like "Offerup" or "Letgo"
you might be able to find exactly what you need for this project

But back to your question

I do have extra parts for a number of different karts but i don't want to sell you something you might not need

If i was in your shoes
I would start with finding a Go Kart frame that way we have something to work from


I have many different parts for many different types of karts and i would be more than happy to Give you any parts i am not using or don't have plans for as long as you pay for the shipping
But we need a place to start
