absolutely, would appreciate it very much, and thank you for the offer

Ok, first thing, don't cut right through the tube, leave one wall intact; you can then bend on that side until you have the desired angle, clamp both sections down to a flat bench & tack the inside edge; this will hold the tube in the desired position/shape until you're ready to weld...

Second, cut equal angles from each side of the centreline (as shown in the pic below) so, to achieve a total 45° angle, you need to remove 23.5° from each side of the centreline, for a 90°, you need to remove 45° from each side of the centreline & so on...

It doesn't matter if the cuts are rough or uneven, as long as there's enough material remove to create the desired bend; in the end, it doesn't matter what it looks like, it will be welded & ground down eventually...

My favorite tool for cutting and notching tube is a 5" angle grinder with .045 thick flat cut-off discs. Cuts can be extremely accurate. Remember to always wear gloves and safety glasses, or better yet, a face shield.

My favorite for precise cuts is patience, and a 3" air powered cut off tool (HF). The discs are very very thin, and being air powered there is not a lot of kick back from the power, and it cuts really smoothly too.

They built that same basic model littorally for DECADES!!!! That does make dating one a little more problematic. Best bet would be to take the model & serial numbers, and contact Lincoln Electric.....

hello machinist...the only thing I can find on this machine is a code "reference"...10426 812....the first 5 digits refer to what type or model it is...the second 3 refer to year and month...1981 February.(and even this may not be exact, may be plant location in first 5 #'s also)...all coding was changed by Lincoln at the start of 1993,(Canada mid 1993)....
