talked to ombwarehouse last night, still gonna be 1-2 weeks for delivery....might as well get started on the next project....
got hundres of miles of desert here so.....Offroad Exploratory Vehicle....twin engine...about a foot of clearance...big tires...roll bar...cooler rack...lol...don't know where to start,so its SPINDLES...
so I got some pipe clamps(big)..pounded them into shape..cut .. drill...then decided that wasn't heavy duty enough,so I got a bigger clamp(HUGE)...flattened it....drilled it...cut it...you can see by the pics, the size difference...i'll use the smaller ones on a street kart(maybe)....I got wheel bolts(but they're threaded all the way down,so back they go)after the sun passes,i'll weld these up and grind them down...cant weld on steering arms yet, they will be offset tho, angled upwards,to match arm....now I gotta look at some pics of an A-arm,see how to build one of those(2)......

E.T. Frankenkart

the parts are rolling in fast, couple of scores this weekend..first.....this OLD Lincoln welder..."FREE"!!!...stored forever, torch lead cutoff,220 plug was so old it wouldn't fit into dryer outlet, swapped that out,hit the switch, and it hums to life, wont use it on this project(maybe a skyscraper)Can anyone tell me the year this model is?..i learned on a model older than this one...and it was new!!!...LOL....
second score....42' of .063 x1"square tubing..25$...this will be a BEEFY front end and a roll cage
third score...2 HEMI predator motors...AND a 90 amp mig welder(im gonna be cooking ALL week)...
now comes the time to surf for parts....my last build sold pretty quick,so I gots money to play with,...today I need to get tires, rims and an axel(probably live)....
this tubing is so light I can encapsulate myself easily, with only a small weight gain...
these motors will stay stock, save for governor and oil sensor removal(i'm convinced,chancer)....
outside dimensions..7.5x4.5....fit right in my truck....
and finally it will have a feature that NO OTHER kart has:stir:.....a mod so diabolical,so simple,so USEFUL,...you might have seen it before, but im resurrecting it......wait for it......

doggone, I had to pay roughly $150 for my Lincoln "tombstone" on the Phoenix Craigslist, your picture is a little too blurry to make out what year it is, does it have a stamp or tag on the back?

They built that same basic model littorally for DECADES!!!! That does make dating one a little more problematic. Best bet would be to take the model & serial numbers, and contact Lincoln Electric.....

small hint

The only clue I can give is.....I have a 33 inch gate,.and my kart will be 7'x4'....working on the front end now, maintaining "square" with hand tools,is super tough...need to make a jig,for consistent 45's....abrasive chop saws and hand held bandsaws do not make for a good clean consistent cut......soon as I can get something worked up,I'm not embarrassed by,I'll post it......

Finding the angle isn't the problem....its the cheap tooling I have to do it with....abrasive chop saws drift....handheld bandsaws aren't exactly accurate....I wanted to mitre everything, but butt welds are looking more doable(maybe I can hide them).....and chancer, twin independent throttles?......naw....too much involved to change...(one throttle..one brake...both hand).....OK.....lol....this mod I'm installing will be totally uselss to 99.9 %of you karters... ABSOLUTLY necessary to me......more like VITAL ......any more will give it away......ya see...from what I see,EVERY type of kart(on and off road)has already been done to death....very,very few styles left to see or engineer.....so then you're competing against, people that do this for a living.....good luck there.....what I'm going to show you guys in a few months, has never been done, well it might have, but I haven't seen it.....I don't have any previous kart (one minichopper)experience....and apprentice level metal skills.....so don't expect anything fancy....just a neat VERY useful mod, that gonna make it possible for me to go offloading.....cheaply....

If you're interested, there's a few tricks I can show you that make angle joints a bit easier... & neater...

absolutely, would appreciate it very much, and thank you for the offer
...OK,that old welder I scored,has only one model/code indicator....ive sent an e-query to LINCOLN.......MODEL:ac/dc 225/125...CODE:10426 812....it has DC reverse polarity,positive and negative...i remember,reverse polarity throws major sparks,but I don't remember why its used,maybe galvanized metal?
no more clues for 2 reasons....#1 landuse was close enough....#2 until I turn out something, its all hot air, right?
I hacked at it for a couple of hours yesterday,(front end a-arm mounts)nothing ending up "square",ended up with a lot of scrapola....(we'll call them "filler" pieces)it was more of a mock-up,really,:)thumbsup:im claiming)since I don't have wheels and an axel yet,i have nothing to reference dimensions.....so while im waiting,im practicing........

and the winner is...

crazykart....splits in half, behind the drivers seat, hand controls on quick release steering wheel...kart built on 2"rails,7'long,cut in half,an inner rail(1.79)will slide in and out, pins into place....so its a front and back section.......but crazy..I LIKE YOUR IDEA!!!...
