Ok so I already have a motor, battery, axle, two wheels w/ tires and a brake. I plan on buying a couple of bearings for my 1" live axle in the near future. Although, a couple of problems I've run in to are:
1. My motor has a #25 chain sprocket, and I can't seem to find anywhere a #25 sprocket for a 1" live axle or even #25 sprockets that would work on a sprocket hub. Everything seems to be #35 and up.
2. I have a motor that runs when I stick both wires into an outlet type thing on the battery but, I was wondering how I could string a throttle in between the battery and motor. Would I need a throttle and controller or ... .

Sry I'm new to everything. If anybody has any suggestions or links I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

P.S. I have a 36v 750watt motor and a 36v battery.

Ud want to use a potentiometer for the throttle but i just read this thing on how they wear out and make the controls jumpy. Check the third paragraph on this link. I think thats what ud wanna use

O and for the sprocket deal, all i could suggest is buying a #35 sprocket and attachment and just weld on the #25 sprocket. The hard parts getting it perfectly centered

For the option of an electric motor with variable speed you will basically need two more major components:

1. As mentioned before, a POT, or a potentiometer will be needed to change movement of a pedal, lever, or twist grip, into something the motor controller can understand.

2. A suitable "motor controller"

IDK how many teeth you want, but here is a selection for a reasonable price,

Thanks r96 that website for the sprocket had a great selection, I just bought one from them we'll see when it comes in. As for the throttle I now realize I'm going to need a motor controller then some sort of actual throttle or POT, but I plan on the steering to be just a swiveling front axle I turn with my feet so I don't really want a pedal, does anyone think I can connect a hand throttle from a motor scooter to the controller and just mount it at my side ?
