My Dingo...

Well, I picked this up today. The frame could use a few touch up spots, but the seat looks good and it fires right up. I know nothing about torque converters, so any info would be appreciated.

On the test drive, from a dead stop, it took a second or three to get moving but then scooted on. Since I've got home its took more like ten seconds. Could the belt be loose? It is loose...but that might be how it's suppose to be.

Post up some photos of your TC with the cover off, of both the driver and the driven, as well as the belt.

Revs and then catches...but sometimes it's only a second or two...and then sometimes it's more like 10.

Sounds more like a badly worn belt to me! Take the cover off and post some pics. We should be able to tell you then!

Or it could be a sticking driver pulley, maybe try some WD-40.

That belt is shot. You could still have other issues, but the belt need's to be replaced to eliminate that part of the problem.

I have to also confirm that your belt is BEYOND gone! That thing looks skinny...

You can pick them up in any major go kart parts stores online like BMI Karts, Willards small engine and many more. Also you can find them on Ebay

I assume it has the Comet 99 TC as it has just the motor cradle and the band brake?

That looks to me like a 20 or 30 series TC. Belts are easy to find. Hopefully someone who knows where to get them will comment here in a bit

I've prettyuch narrowed it down to a '94 model Dingo. In '95 they went to the full cage and it has the #420 chain which they started in '94.
