My clutchless minibike

I'm 15, and have been building a clutchless minibike from scratch. I'm always building crazy things like this (check out my site), and I did all the welds myself. It uses a 2.5 hp, horizontally shafted, 100cc Qualcast engine.

The minibike project? Just fine! I'm changing the gear ratio to 5:1, with a bike sprocket: Is this strong enough?

I used a bike sprocket and chain on a motor bike, and woked okay. Probably your best bet is a #41 chain set-up, if you can go that route.

Really? Cuz I have 41 chain on my kart and it's thicker than a bike chain.

#41 is the skinniest, #40 is thicker and #420 is the thickest. Bike chain comes in all different kinds of thicknesses, from a skinny plate 3/32" width road bike racing chain, to a heavy duty 1/8" wide street-proof BMX chain.

I'm using a 40 size chain on a bike sprocket. The pitch is the same on a 40 or a 41, it's the width that differs, I think.
