Dumping gas into the crank case you say? Try cleaning the carb and make sure the float isn't sticking or cracked because this can cause it to overflow into the motor. There may be no need to replace that engine.

Check the neddle valve as well. Probably a fast fix.

You still want more power? Bike engine a lot of work. What tools and skills do you and your dad have? Welder?

we dont have a welder my dads freind does though and he would weld stuff up for us for a price.when it was running right it wouldnt even go up little hills from a dead stop you had to floor it to get up any hill i just want it so i dont have to worry about shredding a belt or blowing the torque converter.and when i get in the mud my torque converter slips bad.thats why i want a atv engine

Just wondering, that looks to be a bigger engine, like the 13 HP clone? What kind of TC is under that cover, is it a 30 series? I'm assuming you upgraded the engine for more power but left the original TC. If it's a 30 series, that could be the root of your issues.

Your gearing must be wrong, or something wrong with the engine/kart. With the 11hp/Comet 40 combo on my kart, I could haul a$$ up some decent hills- and I'll bet my kart was at least as heavy, if not heavier.

The gear ratio looks to be ok from the size of that JS sprocket and axle sprocket pictured. Is the belt the correct belt? Are the clutch faces dirty/greasy/wet? A 40 series with 11HP should make any kart haul. I wonder if it gets dirty when used in mud and if covering the bottom of it would help it preform better? As you can tell, I'm kind of puzzled by this.

im thinking that the engine isnt running right and thats why. take the carb off, give it a good cleaning, check the float for cracks or holes, needle and seat for dirt...

I think I found one of the problems the sprocket is sharp the teeth on it are sharp and is there any way to adjust the tc for just torque I don't really care about speed

i have a brand new carb for that motor for you for $30, including shipping. i've found that a new carb saves a lot of headache! PM me if you're interested.

my big kart has a 13hp clone and comet 30 series TC on it. i had to change the gear ratio quite drastically to stop ruining belts (pretty easy to do). it only goes 25mph now, but can climb any hill i throw at it with ease! acceleration is awesome too! i'm not ready to fork out $200+ for a bigger clutch, especially since i already sold the kart. lol. the new owner keeps it in my garage for me to use whenever i want (i built it, i know how to fix it. lol), mostly because i have the ultimate riding place right across the street from me.

Always shut off the fuel before you let these Honda styled engines sit, we've had that problem of dumping gas on Hondas for years.
